With both teams backs against the wall West-Windsor/Plainsboro and Hamilton/Northern Burlington battled it out in the Elimination bracket last night from Switlik Park. The winner of this contest was set to move on to the Championship game Wednesday night against Atlantic Shoreline.

Both teams didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard as it was Hamilton/Northern Burlington jumping out to the early 1-0 lead without even getting a hit after some good baserunning from Reese Pillak and Isaac Acosta who both drew walks in the 1st inning. W.W.P. answered in the bottom half of the inning thanks to an RBI single from John Pacifico. In the 2nd W.W.P Matt Chi reached second base on a throwing error and Chase Vitulli singled, and Ross Farhi grounded into a Fielder’s Choice which scored Matt Chi and W.W.P. jumped on top 2-1 after the 2nd inning.

The game opened up in the 4th and 5th innings for H.N.B. as they had a total of 16 at-bats. It all started in the 4th with a Nate Mains walk and Andrew Stizza single. From there it was a pair of sacrifice bunts and H.N.B. taking advantage of two throwing errors scoring three runs on three hits to retake the lead 3-2.

In the 5th inning H.N.B. put the game out of reach scoring 5 runs mostly with 0 outs while batting around. They sent 9 batters to the plate and received a big boost from their pitching staff including Starter Matteo Mannio who pitched 4 innings with only allowing the two runs. Acosta and Nodeland came in for relief and shut down the W.W.P. offense retiring 11 batters and allowing only 1 hit in the 10-2 victory.
